Our Founder – Lee Dukes

The beloved founder of Charlotte Woodcarvers Club has moved to his heavenly home on June 19th, 2011 at the age of 91. His passion for carving will be greatly missed.

  About The Club

CWCC was founded in 1982 by Lee Dukes and eleven other carvers who wanted to have a local carving club here in Charlotte.

Charlotte WoodCarvers Club was founded in 1982. Its mission is:

  • To promote the art of woodcarving
  • To encourage workshops, seminars, classes and other activities that provide training in woodcarving
  • To promote and to provide activities that allow display and exhibit woodcarvings and their creation to the general public for enjoyment and entertainment
  • To share and exchange ideas about woodcarving
  • To provide fellowship with woodcarvers and those interested in woodcarving
